Description

The part-time Master's programme at Dresden International University (DIU) is aimed at doctors and health care professionals and will start in the winter semester of 2022/23. The programme includes the theoretical content for the K3 Trainer Certificate of the Academy for Ethics in Medicine (AEM), which can also be taken separately.

Together with the lecturers, the participants deepen philosophical, theological, applied-ethical, care-ethical and medical-ethical perspectives. They address clinical ethical issues from the beginning to the end of life, including the legal framework, as well as organisational ethics with the associated quality assurance. In addition, management and personnel leadership with a focus on ethics in care are the subject of the study programme.

Aspects of diversity and digital transformation in the health care system were included as focal points in order to sharpen the view of the requirements that have arisen through a multicultural, globally networked digitalised society. In addition, the tension between the individual clinical-ethical perspective on the one hand and the perspective of public health ethics on the other is a topic of the study programme.

The teaching of theory will always be accompanied by a transfer perspective. The examination formats will also be correspondingly applied.

Graduates of the programme can be employed in staff positions or work in the conception and management of an organisation and be responsible for ethical orientation, personnel development and the corresponding quality management. They have a comprehensive view of the central issues of ethics in medical care and nursing and are trained to carry out development work in companies and organisations as managers. They also acquire the learning content (theory) for the K3 - Trainer:innen certificate of the AEM as a prerequisite for being able to offer further training (K1, K2).
