Description
The part-time master's programme "Periodontology and Implant Therapy" offers the unique opportunity to intensively expand and deepen knowledge and practical skills in the field of periodontology. Building on current knowledge of the aetiology of periodontal diseases, evidence-based therapy planning and hands-on teaching of minimally invasive and microsurgical therapy procedures form the focus of the course.
Since implants represent an important therapy option in periodontally diseased dentition, practical implant therapy as well as the management of peri-implant inflammation are also comprehensively presented components of the curriculum and have therefore now also been formally included in the title of the new Master's programme.
One of the main concerns of Dresden International University is to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Following the philosophy of the DIU, other proven academics teach in the degree programme alongside the academic management, who are supported in the modules by high-ranking and experienced practical lecturers. The students are therefore predominantly active in practices and clinics in addition to the university rooms.
