The new Master offers you the qualified and certified opportunity to diagnose and treat your patients in the field of prevention and functional medicine.
New practice and care structures are demonstrated.

The preventive part of the degree programme brings current university knowledge to diagnostic and therapeutic application. The subject-specific knowledge is developed with you into a comprehensive interdisciplinary, individualisable, diagnostic and therapeutic concept.

The newly taught functional medicine shows you a broad basis for the causes of chronic disease patterns and can then be used synergistically with conventional forms of therapy. The majority of the teaching by our international team of lecturers is done in a way that is suitable for everyday life in online (about 80%) and compact face-to-face lectures (about 20%).

Study objectives: 

• Master's thesis - introduction to digital tools and systems, scientific working, literature research, evaluation and working, literature research, evaluation of literature and study results
• Practice management - procedures, finances, personnel, communication, marketing and working in a network
• Multiprofessionality - from silo thinking to global medical player
• Evidence medicine - significantly improving performance, individualising and staying ahead of the times
• Back to basics - microbiology, biochemistry, physics, materials science, toxicology
• Knowing how it works - microbiome, chronic inflammation, genetics/epigenetics, environment, chronobiology, nutritional supplementation, high altitude training, sport, sleep regeneration, aging/anti-aging
• Knowing how to do it - individualised, targeted, multi-professional dignostics and therapy
• Learning the craft - normal and ideal laboratory values, basic knowledge and training: ultrasound of the carotid artery, ultrasound of the abdomen, ultrasound of the heart, proper training
• Therapeutic approaches - Which preventive and functional therapies are useful and justifiable at what time?
• Collegial networks - No one person can do everything. How do I build my network and practice medicine that motivates me?

The programme concludes after 5 semesters (60 ECTS credit points) with the academic degree "Master of Science".
