The Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts, founded 1951 and named after actor and singer Ernst Busch, is a public drama school seated in Berlin. The Academy provides education to more than 200 students in four departments: acting, directing, puppetry, and dance. The four-year study program “Acting“ is divided into a basic studies period characterized by continuity and a systematic nature and a project-related main studies period. The four-year study program “Directing“ is designed to prepare students for working autonomously as a director in an ever more complex world of theater. The program “Contemporary Puppetry“ combines traditional puppetry and puppet forms with contemporary puppet theater. The two-year Master degree program “Dramaturgy“ aims to provide the academic and manual expertise necessary to actively participate in production dramaturgy on an independent and artistic basis. The dance department offers the two study programs “Choreography“ and “Stage Dance“.
