The Euro-FH University of Applied Sciences provides a certified “English for Business” course, which continues in a period of eight months, and gives twelve academic credits. Basic knowledge of English is a requirement for the course, which will further develop language skills to the needed level for fluent expression and perception skills in business communication. Being lingua franca, proficiency in English is a must in the corporate world, and specific knowledge of it does not come easily, if not targeted precisely and imparted with the suitable methodology and techniques, especially to working people, whose shortage of time is a major factor in shaping their studies. This is what the academic team’s aim is, so grammar and lexics will be dealt with in a communicative context, based on real-life support situations. The course commits to give a B2 level by the end, as defined by the Council of Europe in the Common European Framework.
