The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Applied Sport Science - Specialisation Competitive Sport” offered by College for Sport and Management Potsdam prepares students to become trainers, and thus concentrates on analysing, planning, arranging and instructing. Students will be taught how to manage and oversee athletes and sports teams throughout training and competitions as certified educational-instructional and technological-methodical organizers and managers of sports training. The instructional styles of the course of study, the study goals, the curriculum are all designed so as to prepare students for the primary tasks of the future work as a trainer in junior and competitive sport. Students will learn how to be competent enough to operate confidently within the specialized structures of competitive sport. Furthermore, the importance of knowledge application and practical activities I emphasized. The curriculum is arranged in modules, encompassing four subject fields - performance and training theory, educational theory, competition theory, teaching of long-term performance development. Graduates of the program can build careers in the Olympic training centres, sports clubs, sports associations, etc.
