With more than 13,000 students, the FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences of the federal state of North-Rhine Westphalia, which was founded in 1971, ranks among the ten biggest universities of applied science in Germany. As many as ten faculties spread across the two main locations of Aachen and Jülich. While the faculties of Architecture, Design, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, and Business Studies are located in Aachen, the faculties of Chemistry and Biotechnology, Energy Technology, as well as Medical Engineering and Technomatics are to be found in Jülich. Prospective students are offered around 50 Bachelor programs and more than 20 Master programs, including dual and extra-occupational study programs. Outside of lectures, students of the FH Aachen have the opportunity to take part in a variety of student projects in order to gain additional practical experience. As a member of the HAWtech network (German Alliance of Applied Sciences), FH Aachen maintains close collaboration with other German universities of applied science in the fields of research and teaching, technology transfer, advanced training and education, and university management.
