Description
The German-language program “Bachelor of Fine Arts in Cinematography” at Film University Babelsberg, is suitable for individuals passionate about visual storytelling. The course of studies provides students with knowledge and skills in filmmaking which they are afterwards given an opportunity to put into practice during format development workshops, lighting seminars, and project work. Participants familiarize themselves with cinematography for both documentary and fiction films. The modules required to pass are Creative Media Theory, Technological Tools, Creative Cinematography, Professional Practice, Electives, Interdisciplinary Non-fictional Film Project, Artistic Graduation Project and Bachelor’s Thesis. Students are taught in small class sizes, as the emphasis is put on personal development. Working in team and participating in different practical projects and creative exercises is a very important part of the course. The University’s modern equipment, including 2D and 3D high-definition technology, is at students’ complete disposal. Many of their productions are screened and reviewed at international film festivals. Those who complete the program seek positions in the audiovisual media industry.
