Description
The study program “Master of Fine Arts in Cinematography” at Film University Babelsberg is aimed at individuals who have successfully completed their Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Cinematography or have similar qualifications. The course of studies gives students a chance to expand their individual artistic approach and develop their creative and technical skills. They deal with issues in the fields of psychology, perception, and media ethics that are likely to be faced in creative industries. Students are able to take part in interdisciplinary projects and work in teams on non-fiction or fiction film production. They are involved in every step of filmmaking, including the initial idea and concept development as well as production and postproduction. The program comprises of study, project, and graduation modules, namely Creative Cinematography, Electives, Current Tendencies, Preparation of Artistic Graduation Project, Master’s Thesis, and Creative Project and Research Work. Graduates take on jobs in feature and documentary filmmaking or television productions.
