Description
The study program “Bachelor of Fine Arts in Directing”, offered by Film University Babelsberg in German, endows individuals with the theoretical knowledge and technical skills they need to enter film, television, and video media industries. The course of studies teaches students to identify esthetic strategies through analysis, and gives them an opportunity to develop different approaches to film work in practical exercises. They learn how to carry out a professional film production, from the development of the first idea, the concepts and the scripts to production, image and sound postproduction, as well as editing. It is necessary to collaborate with other disciplines in order to complete the film projects. Many of the films are screened at international film festivals. The modules that the program consists of include Introductory Courses, Introduction to Film Theory and Practice, Theoretical Module, and Practical Module as well as Interdisciplinary Non-fictional Film Projects, Electives, and Bachelor’s Thesis.
