Description
The primary objective of the program “Bachelor of Arts in Editing”, offered by Film University Babelsberg in German, is to give an opportunity to individuals to develop their individual editing styles and adopt new, experimental approaches. Students are encouraged to critically reflect upon and cope with editing methods. The course of studies combines independent exploration of artistic strategies with interdisciplinary teamwork. Students are allowed to choose some of the fields of study they have interest in. The wide range of modules consist of Introductory Courses, Feature and Documentary Film Editing, Digital Editing, Editing and Perception, Editing Exercise, Film Workshop, Interdisciplinary Non-fictional Project, Interdisciplinary Elective Artistic Project, and Interdisciplinary Fictional Project as well as Interdisciplinary Basics, Feature, Media Workshop, Occupational Profile and Public Image, Electives, Editing Evaluation, Artistic Graduation Project, and Bachelor's Thesis. Practical work experience lies at the heart of the program and builds on skills required for artistic editing. Graduates have the competencies qualifying them for an editing career.
