The study program “Master of Fine Arts in Editing” at Film University Babelsberg is geared towards individuals who have successfully completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Editing or have comparable qualifications and are interested in further developing their individual artistic approach. Emphasis is placed on artistic editing and specific theoretical and practical aspects depending upon students’ individual preferences and needs. The course of studies covers narrative-oriented filmic languages, linear and non-linear structures of communication, and development of a style that moves beyond conventional genre limitations. Students explore editing issues in excursions and university events. Besides, they can make a choice about the type and the number of practical projects they want to take part in. Graduates have the competencies and skills to work in the fields of film, television, web, theater, events, or liberal arts.
