Description
The seven-semester dual study program ``Bachelor of Science in Midwifery`` offered by Fliedner University of Applied Sciences provides a comprehensive education on women health care. Students learn how to accompany, guide and help women at different stages of their life, including family planning, pregnancy, delivery and nursing. Throughout the program students will be prepared for the demanding requirements of the profession by acquiring evidence-based knowledge while simultaneously studying practical skills, part of the job as a midwife. Upon completion of the degree, students receive state permission to use the title midwife. The curriculum is divided into 21 theoretical and 7 practical parts. Some of the topics that are addressed during the study are prevention and health promotion, ethical principles of midwifery, evidence-based clinical decision-making, and etc. Graduates of the program are active in birthing centres, doctor`s practices, managerial positions in obstetric institutions, and etc.
