Description
The six-semester part-time study program ``Bachelor of Arts in Education for the Ambulance Service`` offered by Fliedner University of Applied Sciences provides students with vocational education and training in the fields of rescue services, emergency medicine, civil protection and disaster control. The training imparts also scientifically solid information for better understanding and improvement of rescue service pedagogical difficulties. This involves reflecting on pedagogical activity in close interaction with students` knowledge and career backgrounds. The curriculum is compound of three main subject areas – educational sciences, rescue an emergency medicine and health sciences. These main areas of study are supplemented by gaining understanding of counselling, psychology and ethics. Skills in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies are also provided which can help to advance rescue service pedagogical research. Graduates of the program are working on the fields of teaching at vocational schools for emergency paramedics, management of a rescue station, responsible management in senior service.
