FOM – University of Applied Sciences, founded in 1993, is a state-approved private university. It is privately sponsored by is FOM Hochschule für Oekonomie & Management GmbH gemeinnützige Gesellschaft mbH. In addition to its headquarters in Essen, the FOM Essen has further locations in Aachen, Augsburg, Berlin, Bochum, Bonn, Bremen, Dortmund, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Essen, Frankfurt a. M., Gütersloh, Hagen, Hamburg, Hannover, Karlsruhe, Kassel, Cologne, Leipzig, Mannheim, Marl, Munich, Münster, Neuss, Nürnberg, Siegen, Stuttgart, Wesel, and Wuppertal. Prospective students are offered Bachelor and Master degree programs with an emphasis on business administration, engineering, health sciences, and social economy. The attendance programs can be completed on an extra-occupational basis or in parallel with an in-company training program, with lectures held in the evenings and at weekends. FOM is divided into six departments: the Business and Management department, the Business and Psychology department, the Business and Law department, the IT Management department, the Engineering department, and the Health and Social Affairs department. Depending on the respective program, graduates receive a B.A., B.Sc., LL.B., B.Eng., M.A., M.Sc., LL.M., and M.Eng. All locations considered, approximately 42,500 students are enrolled at FOM.
