Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, founded in 1938, is a public school of art seated in Frankfurt, Hesse that has the right to confer doctoral degrees. The University breaks down into three departments: the Department of Artistic Instrumental Studies, the Department of Teaching Degrees, Academic Studies and Composition, and the Department of Performing Arts. Along these departments, it provides education to some 900 students in 27 undergraduate and continuative study programs. The undergraudate programs include six Bachelor programs (“Vocal Performance“, “Church Music“, “Kronberg Academy“, “Artistic Instrumental Studies“, “Directing“, “Contemporary and Classical Dance“), two teacher education programs (“Higher Secondary Teacher Education“, “Lehramt GHRF“), as well as the Diploma program “Acting“. The range of continuative programs comprises 12 Master programs (“Choreography and Performance“, “Contemporary Dance Education“, “Vocal Performance“, “Historical Practice of Interpretation“, “International ‘Ensemble Modern‘ Academy“, “Chamber Music“, “Church Music“, “Composition“, “Kronberg Academy Master“, “Artistic Instrumental Studies“, “Music Pedagogy“, “Theater and Orchestra Management“), as well as a Concert Exam program and a doctoral program in Musicology. Graduates of Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts respectively obtain a B.A., B.Mus., M.Mus., M.A., Diploma, State Exam, Concert Exam, or Dr. phil. Degree. Prerequisite to study at Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts is the completion of an admission procedure.
