The “Bachelor of Arts in Byzantine Studies’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of Philosophy and Humanities. It is a study program created in a single variation: Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The primary focus of the educational program is the history, culture, religion, art, science, economy and politics of the Byzantine Empire. The interdisciplinary course combines numerous humanities in order to relate the field of study to a more global social context. Additionally to the extensive study program, the University offers a Philological Library as well as developed educational partnerships and European exchange programs. Thus, participants will be able to combine the theory and the practice.
