The “Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Studies’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of History and Cultural Studies. It is a study program created in a single variation: Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The educational program is primarily focused on the Chinese language. However, the intersisciplinary approach allows the participants to learn more about the culture, society, economics, globalization, history, and the different internal transformation of China. During the course, the participants are expected to develop all four basic language skills - listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Among the key subject of the study program are History, Culture, Art, and Economy of East Asia with an accent on Japan and Corea. The interdisciplinary approach gives the participants the chance to analyze, understand and structure the trends of the Chinese society and its impact on the world scene.
