The “Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Studies/East Asian studies’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a 6-semester course designed by the Department of History and Cultural Studies. The course is focused on the history of China, and its pre-modern and modern development, emphasizing on the political, social, economic and cultural factors. The study program covers also Japan and Korea. During the course the participants are expected to gain a significant knowledge of Chinese language. Students can select their own field of study with a specific focus on East Asia. The study program offers a blend of language, methodology, and content so that the participants can easily analyze and present interesting aspects of the Chinese society. Additionally, the Department of History and Cultural Studies has developed different programs with partner universities.
