Description
The “Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of Philosophy and Humanities. It is a study program created in two variations: Major subject in a combi bachelor and Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The core of the course explores the literatures of different cultures and puts them in an interdisciplinary context. Some of the main subjects included in the study program are: General and Comparative Literature, German Comparative Literature. The participants are expected to learn about the influences and the connections leading to the contemporary literature, and to campare them to other artistic forms - painting, music, and film. The German comparative literature is focused mainly on Romance and English studies. However, the course’s material extends into certain non-European literatures.
