Description
The “Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of Philosophy and Humanities. It is a study program created in two variations: Major subject in a combi bachelor and Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The course is primarily focused on the history and poetics of European literatures from the ancient to the modern times. The literature knowledge is put in the context of the society’s development and cultural foundations. The participant are expected to combine theory and practice during their study. The subject is closely related to the Classical Philology and examines the work and influence of certain writers. The interdisciplinary course successfully combines literature with history, philosophy, art, music, film, sociology, media, etc.
