The “Bachelor of Arts in Egyptian Philology’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of History and Cultural Studies. It is a study program created in a single variation: Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The course is primarily focused on the material and spiritual legacies of ancient Egypt. The participants are introduces to the culture of Pharaonic Egypt and they are expected to gain knowledge on the writing, language, history, religion, culture, etc. The interdisciplinary study program is related not only to prehistoric archaeology but also to classical archaeology and classical philology. The course combines theory and practice in order to provide the graduates with deeper understanding of the Egytian thought.
