The “Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of Education and Psychology. It is a study program created in a single variation: Mono bachelor with teacher training for elementary schools. The participants are able to apply either for "Elementary Education with the compulsory subjects German and Mathematics" or "Elementary Education with the specialised subject Special Needs Education". The course is a balanced mix of research-oriented theory and practice-oriented teaching. The study program’s content is focus on different aspect of teaching - organizational, structural and personal frameworks, questions of equality policy, social values and norms. The following subjects can be selected as part of the Pedagogy study: German, Mathematics, Non-Fiction Education, Special Education, English, French, Art and Music.
