The “Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of Philosophy and Humanities. It is a study program created in two variations: Major subject in a combi bachelor and Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The program is primarily focused on language, literature, and cultures of the English-speaking world. The course is a combination between a practical language module and a specialized academic module, including the key subject: Linguistics, Literary Studies, Medieval Studies, and Cultural Studies. Upon graduation, the participants are expected to analyze, describe the language structute, to understand its development as a communication tool, and additionally, to work freely with literary and non-literary texts.
