The “Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature with Teacher Training’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Institute for English Language and Literature. It is a study program created in two variations: Major subject in a combi bachelor with teacher training and Minor subject in a combi bachelor with teacher training. The course is primarily focused on the language, literature, and cultures of the whole Anglophone world. The interdisciplinary study program combines both theory and practice. The four major areas of the course are as follows: Linguistics, Literary Studies, Medieval Studies, and Cultural Studies. Each of them aims at presenting the participants not only the rich language structure and its development but also to put it in a wider socio-cultural context.
