The “Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Institute of Theatre Studies. It is a study program created in two variations: Major subject in a combi bachelor and Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The aim of the course is to examine the history, influences and the theory regarding the visuals media. The interdisciplinary study program focuses also on other arts, related to the film making, such as literature, painting, dance, music. Students are expected to perform comparative analyses and to explain connections between the different periods in the history of the film. Along with the theoretical subjects, the Free University of Berlin has included practical seminars too.
