The “Bachelor of Arts in French Language and Literature’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of Philosophy and Humanities. It is a study program created in a single variation: Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The participants are available to choose between the 60 LP module with prior French linguistic knowledge and the other 60 LP module without prior French linguistic knowledge. The course examines the diversity of the French linguistic system, the language’s theories and methods, the linguistic reflection on the socio-cultural field as well as the interdisciplinary connection of the language in a broader context. The study program combines the language with the literary studies, including text analysis and interpretation of literature and non-literary texts, literature history, etc.
