The “Bachelor of Arts in French Language and Literature with Teacher Training’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Institute of Romance Languages and Literatures. It is a study program created in two variations: Major subject in a combi bachelor with teacher training and Minor subject in a combi bachelor with teacher training. The course is mainly focused on the language, literature, culture and history of France and the other French-speaking countries. The graduates are expected to excel the numerous theories and methods of the course’s studies and to apply the knowledge to different contexts – social, cultural, biological. The study program is focused on the language practice too, developing all basic language skills - reading, listening, speaking, and writing. The interdisciplinary course incorporates subjects like Geography, History, Politics, Philosophy, Art, Media, Social Systems. Additionally modules include linguistics and literary studies.
