The research-oriented program “Master of Arts in General and Comparative Literature’’ at the Freie University of Berlin is four semesters long. The course extends and deepens the already acquired knowledge and covers topics of History and poetics of European works of literature since the early modern period and non-European literature in languages of European origin. The training incorporates the systematic study of poetry, aesthetic issues and historical-evolutionary topics. Students develop profound scientific knowledge and advanced professional competencies. The admission requirements are a Bachelor’s degree with a literary component and proficiency in English.
