The course “Master of Science in Geographical Development Studies” at the Free University of Berlin teaches students to plan, design and carry out an empirical research project. The duration of the training is four semesters and taught in German and English. The syllabus incorporates the modules of Basics of geographic development research, Human-environmental relationships, Geographic information processing for development research and others. To apply, students should have a Bachelor’s degree in geosciences and good English knowledge. Graduates can begin careers in national and international development organizations, journalism and media centres, authorities, associations and other prospects.
