The “Bachelor of Arts in German Language and Literature’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Institute of German and Dutch Languages and Literatures. It is a study program created in two variations: Major subject in a combi bachelor and Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The major areas of the Bacher’s program include Modern German Literature, Older German Literature and Language, and Linguistics. During the course the participant will examine the development of the German language and literature during different historical periods - from Baroque, Enlightenment, Classicism and Romanticism, to Modernism, Postmodernism, and contemporary literature. The interdisciplinary course offers a blend of theory and practice regarding numerous additional areas like media and culture.
