The “Bachelor of Arts in History’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of History and Cultural Studies. It is a study program created in two variations: Major subject in a combi bachelor and Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The course is primarily focused on the historical development of society, economics, culture, etc. throught the years – from ancient to contemporary modern times. Some of the key units included into the study program are: Ancient History, Medieval History of Europe and the Near East, Early modern history, Modern History. The participants are expected to gain knowledge on German, European and world history. Examining different historical issues is the core of the educational course. However, History is put in a broader context giving the graduates the possibility to scientifically translate recent trends and even predict their development in the future.
