The “Bachelor of Arts in History with Teacher Training’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of History and Cultural Studies. It is a study program created in two variations: Major subject in a combi bachelor with teacher training and Minor subject in a combi bachelor with teacher training. The course is primaryly focused on the history of Germany, Europe, and the world with an accent on politics, society, culture, economy, religion, social relations. The educational program is divided into four major subject areas: Ancient History, Medieval History of Europe and the Near East, Modern history of Europe and the world, Didactics of History. The participants are expected to gather historical data with different scientific methods, to make connections between historical events, to translate them into social and cultural issues, and even to be able to predict trends.
