The “Bachelor of Arts in Italian’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of Philosophy and Humanities. It is a study program created in a single variation: Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The course is primarily focused on the extensive Italian language practice, applying interdisciplinary approach with linguistics, literature, and regional studies included. The study program is offered in two different modules - a module with prior linguistic knowledge and a module without prior linguistic knowledge. During the educational program the participants are expected to develop all basic language skills - reading, listening, speaking and writing. The course offers not only theory but also presents the language as a social communication tool and puts it in a larger cultural context.
