The “Bachelor of Arts in Italian Language and Literature with Teacher Training’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of Philosophy and Humanities. It is a study program created in two variations: Major subject in a combi bachelor with teacher training and Minor subject in a combi bachelor with teacher training. The course is primarily focused on the language, literature, culture and history of Italy and the other Italian-speaking geographical areas. During their language practice, the participants are expected to develop all basic language skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing. The interdisciplinary approach of the education program introduces students to the theory and methods of Romance and Italian linguistics, the language history and the language influence on a broader social and cultural level.
