The “Bachelor of Arts in Japanese’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a four-semester course designed by the Department of History and Cultural Studies. It is a study program created in a single variation: Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The course is divided into two main fields of study - Literary and Cultural Studies, and Social and Economic Studies. The course is primarily focused on the extensive language practice of Japanese for students without previous knowledge on the language. The course develops all basic skills - reading, writing, listening and speaking; it covers level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The Department of Japanese Studies has numerous successful partnership programs that the participants can benefit from.
