The “Bachelor of Arts in Japanese Studies’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of History and Cultural Studies. It is a study program created in a single variation: Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The course is primarily focused on the culture, history, and language of the modern Japan. The program includes both theoretical and practical modules. The course is created for students without any previous knowledge on the Japan language. The students are expected to develop all major language skils - reading, writing, listening and speaking. The interdisciplinary approach combines the language practice with key subjects such as: History, Literature, Culture, Politics, and Economics.
