The “Bachelor of Arts in Jewish Studies’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of History and Cultural Studies. It is a study program created in two variations: Major subject in a combi bachelor and Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The course aims at introducing the participants to the different aspects of Judaism, including – history, culture, literature, religion. The Bachelor’s study program starts with the modern period and gets back to the roots of Judaism. Thus, making possible for the participant to understand the context, to search for influences and to explain different cultural phenomena. Additional accent is put on language training too.
