The “Bachelor of Arts in Jewish Studies’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of History and Cultural Studies. It is a study program created in two variations: Major subject in a combi bachelor and Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The course is primarily focused on the history and literature of Judaism including some cultural intellectual aspects during the Europe’s Middle Ages and modern times. The students are introduced to the phenomenon of the Judaism and are expected to analyze trends and connections in a broader cultural and historical context. The interdisciplinary approach combines the Jewish Studies to other key subject like History, Religion, Literature, etc. Additionally, the participants are provided with a basic language knowledge too.
