The “Bachelor of Arts in Korean’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of History and Cultural Studies. It is a study program created in a single variation: Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The course is primarily focused on the modern development of the Korean language and introduces the participants to all basic language skills: listening, reading, writing, speaking. During the educational course, the students are expected to understand and translate different Korean texts including technical ones. Certain modules of the course introduce the students to the Chinese characters (hanja). The interdisciplinary program emphasizes on the historical and cultural influence of the Korean language. The students can benefit from the numerous International partner programs of the Free University of Berlin.
