The “Bachelor of Arts in Korean Studies’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of History and Cultural Studies. It is a study program created in a single variation: Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The course is primarily focused on the history and literature of Korea including some cultural intellectual aspects during the Middle Ages and modern times. The graduates are introduced to the development of the Korean culture and are expected to analyze trends and connections in a broader East Asian social and historical context. The interdisciplinary approach combines the Korean Studies to other key subject like History, Religion, Literature, Political science and Economics. Additionally, the participants are provided with a basic language knowledge too.
