The “Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Institute for Latin American Studies. It is a study program created in a single variation: Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The course is primarily focused on the history, politics, society, culture and economy of Latin America. The interdisciplinary approach allows the participants to put the gained knowledge into a larger social and cultural context while examining the internal processes and the development of the targeted geographical areas. Besides the theory, students are involved into practice too. They can also benefit from the extensive library of the Ibero-American Institute of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation and to take part in the numerous scientific and cultural events organized.
