The “Bachelor of Arts in Latin Language and Literature’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Institute of Greek and Latin Languages and Literatures. It is a study program created in two variations: Major subject in a combi bachelor and Minor subject in a combi bachelor. At the heart of the study program are language systems and language history. Participants are expected to develop high level of active language and translation skills while dealing with ancient Latin literature and classical Latin poetry. The interdisciplinary course includes also ancient history and Greek philology. During their six-semesters, students will acquire deeper knowledge in intellectual history and the influence of the Latin language on culture and society.
