The “Bachelor of Arts in Latin Language and Literature’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of Philosophy and Humanities. It is a study program created in two variations: Major subject in a combi bachelor and Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The course is primarily focused on different Latin texts in the European literature and European science dating from Ancient times to the Middle Ages. The study program includes key Roman authors in in numerous literature genres. The interdisciplinary approach give the participants the chance to be introduced to the Roman culture, history, and Greek philology too. During the program the students are expected to analyse and work with original texts, to make interconnections as well as to put the Roman culture into a wider social context.
