The “Bachelor of Arts in Latin Language and Literature with Teacher Training’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of Philosophy and Humanities. It is a study program created in two variations: Major subject in a combi bachelor with teacher training and Minor subject in a combi bachelor with teacher training. The Latin Language Bachelor’s program is focused on all major Latin texts from antiquity to the beginning of the Middle Ages. The participants are to acquire knowledge of Roman culture, history, and intellectual history. Alongside with the theoretical part of the course, students will practice examining language systems and language history. Additional accent is put on language and translation.
