Description
The “Bachelor of Arts in Prehistoric Archaelogy’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of History and Cultural Studies. It is a study program created in a single variation: Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The course examines different artefacts founded geographically in Europe and the neighboring areas. The course covers the time period from the beginnings of human settlement. The interdisciplinary study program relates the material culture of the Prehistoric times to the fileds of natural science, ethnology, history, geography, anthropology, archaeozoology and archaeobotany. Participants are expected to gain knowledge on the theory and methods of Archeology, to master the typological, quantitative-statistical, and material-analytical methods, and also to analyze and understand the connection between the Archeology troves and the later development of the civilization.
