The course “Master of Arts in Public History” at the Free University of Berlin is four semesters long. The program aims to teach students to form an awareness of the representation of the historical content and problems of contemporary history in forms adapted to the media and the public. Students gain a solid theoretical competence, develop various practical competencies as communicative and representative skills. The curriculum includes the modules of Topics and controversies in modern history, Media, communication and the public from a historical perspective, Public relations and cultural management, Historical learning and history culture and more. Graduates can pursue a career in media, publishing houses, museums, memorials, associations, foundations and companies.
