The “Bachelor of Arts in Social and Cultural Anthropology’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Department of Political and Social Sciences. It is a study program created in two variations: Major subject in a combi bachelor and Minor subject in a combi bachelor. The course program has a close connection to the the history of ethnology. It examines the different social and cultural structures, and compares their development during a large time span. The interdisciplinary approach of the course gives the participants the opportunity to acquire deeper knowledge of global communities, ideas, practices, and institutions. An accent is put on of a non-Romance, non-Germanic language too. Students can choose their preferences among Arabic, Chinese, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Kurdish, Polish, Russian, Swahili, Turkish language.
