The “Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature with Latin American Studies’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Institute of Romance Languages and Literatures. It is a study program created in a single variation: Major subject in a combi bachelor. The course is primarily focused on the language, literature, culture and history of Spain and the Spanish-speaking countries. The participants can choose a module with or without a prior language knowledge. The broad fields of study include linguistic system, linguistic history, Ibero-Romance and Latin American varieties, history of Romance and Spanish linguistics. The study program examines the phenomenon of the language as a social, cultural, and biological construct. Its multidisciplinary profile gives the participants the opportunity to acquire additional knowledge of the subjects - Geography, History, Politics, Philosophy, Art, Culture, Media, Social Systems.
