The “Bachelor of Arts in Theater Studies’’ study program offered by Free University of Berlin is a six-semester course designed by the Institute of Theater Studies. It is a study program created in a single variation: Major subject in a combi bachelor. The course is primarily focused on the history, aesthetic, theory, and influences of all theter forms. The participants are not expected to be trained artistically or technically. Some of the main fields of the study program are Theater, Theater History, and Theory and Aesthetics. The participants are expected to acquire theretical knowledge of the development, cultural influence and the current state of different arts - literature, painting, dance, and music. The interdisciplinary course aims at positioning the theatre in the context of the social development and to examine the connection between art and culture.
